It's early but is this supposed to be Monoghan C? Never heard of Callaghan and I don't see Monoghan on the team list you provided?

Did you mean C Sean Monahan?...if so, hes there.

The two groups listed (a/b) are the two teams so far as noted in the blog.

EDIT: seems as though the website just updated itself in just over an hour . Will repost both groups.

I would love to see Trey Lewis have a good camp. Not a Flames fan, but Trey has proven himself as a leader over the past couple season with the Mooseheads and deserves this shot.

I'm very excited to hear how these guys do in this camp. Also, it is my understanding that Johnny Gaudreau has commited to going back to school for another year, so he won't be cracking the line-up.

Was kinda nice to hear Pronman, who usually trashes the Flames ranked us 10th in prospects within the organization. That's a nice change. Curious why Nemisz & Cundari(especially Cundari) aren't t the camp.

Wouldnt consider Nemisz a prospect anymore, per se. Hes played 15 NHL games and 174 AHL games to date.

Cundaris played a few NHL games and 175 AHL games as well.

I would like to keep an eye on Seilof, Granlund, Ferland. 3 players who should be ready to take the next step in their development. Ferland lit up with WHL the last few years. Colin, any thoughts on these 3?

Of the three, Sieloff is who I expect to make an impact. Not sure if Granlund and Ferland will be able to "out-compete" a few other guys on the list.

Is Granlund ready to at least come over to North America? I wouldn't mind seeing him spend next year down in the AHL.

Also I think this is the last kick at the can for Ortio, I've been disappointed with him thus far.

Hopefully I'll get down there to catch a practice. Looking forward to seeing a couple of the new guys.

I like the Flames prospects at Center. Monahan could be a solid 1C. A could options at 2C with Reinhart or Jankoski (odds are at least one of them will not work out).
I am most excited about Granlund; he is a for sure third line center with a long career. I'm thinking Yelle type career. Great defensively but works hard enough and has enough skill to pitch 15-20 goals a year. I think he will make the team this year.

He is the reason i'm skeptical of both Berra and Ramo. He played a few games in the AHL and was HORRIBLE, stating it was tough to adjust to the North American game/ice. The difference is Berra and Ramo are pro's that have been playing at a high level for a long time, but still, i'm scared

I would love it if he got a long look this year. He at the very least needs to play with the heat.

I wouldn't give up just yet on Ortio. He's only 22 which is still young for a goalie. I don't think Kipper truly cracked the NHL until he was 26 / 27. I have him down the depth chart from Brossoit and Gillies (assuming Berra and Ramo are pro level) at this point but still could prove to be an NHL goalie.

I think we're all scared after the Cervenka is the best player outside of the NHL last summer and now Berra and Ramo are the best goalies not in the NHL.

I'm more interested in seeing the guys that John Weisbrod had a hand in selecting; Jankowski, Sieloff, Poirier, Monohan, Gillis, Gillies, Agostino (from Iggy trade), Klimchuk, etc. Weisbrod seems to be doing well in his job.

You're right! I'm sure that is part of it too. So far, not the best track record for Feaster and Co. with their European projects.

Granlund has one more year of military service before he can make the transition I believe. He's not very big, hustles hard but not offensively productive. He will need to continue to work on his strength and defensive game if hes going to make the Heat in a year.

Lewis was the Co-Captain for the Moose this year and was suspended for the last game of the Q finals as he fought two guys at once for running Zach Fucale and Nate MacKinnon late in the second last game. Heart and soul guy, exactly what the flames are going to need on the back end moving forward.

Cool

Looks like he had some OK numbers as well. Looking forward to seeing him play.
